SUMMARY:Practical Skills for First-Time Managers 9:30am - 12:30pm €59
DESCRIPTION:Stepping Up: Practical Skills for First-Time Managers\n  \nParticipants will be provided with practical tools and techniques to help them make the transition into management\, communicate confidently and manage their everyday responsibilities more effectively. \nThe course is delivered through one practical and interactive 3-hour session. \n  \nOverview\nThis is an introductory-level programme for newly appointed managers\, supervisors and team leaders who want to build confidence and develop the practical skills required to manage people effectively. \nMoving from team member to manager can be a significant adjustment. New managers must learn how to set expectations\, allocate work\, delegate responsibility\, provide feedback and address performance issues—often while adapting to managing people who were previously their peers. \nThis workshop focuses on the situations that first-time managers are likely to face in their everyday roles. Through practical discussion and examples\, participants will explore how to communicate clearly\, manage different individuals and balance competing responsibilities. \nParticipants will leave with a stronger understanding of their role as a manager and a practical action plan to support them during their first months in management. \n  \nWho Should Attend?\nNewly appointed managers who want to build confidence and develop practical management skills. \nSupervisors and team leaders who are taking on greater responsibility for managing people and performance. \nEmployees who have recently been promoted from within their team and are adjusting to managing former colleagues or peers. \nEmployees who are preparing to move into their first management or supervisory position. \nOrganisations that want to provide new managers with a consistent and practical foundation in people management. \n  \nLearning Outcomes\nThis practical course will introduce learners to the key responsibilities of a manager and help them understand how their role changes when moving from team member to manager. \nParticipants will learn how to set clear expectations\, allocate work effectively and manage employee performance. They will also consider how regular one-to-one conversations can support communication\, accountability and stronger working relationships. \nLearners will explore practical approaches to delegation\, including how to assign responsibility while retaining appropriate oversight and accountability. The course will also examine how managers can provide constructive feedback and approach difficult conversations with greater confidence. \nParticipants will consider how different individuals within a team may be motivated and supported. They will also explore practical ways to manage priorities\, interruptions and competing demands while remaining effective in their own role. \nBy the end of the session\, participants will have a clearer understanding of their management responsibilities and a practical action plan to guide them through their first months as a manager. \n  \nDelivery Method\nOnline Live Interactive Webinar \nCourse Duration\nThe duration of this programme is 3 hours with a 10 minute break after each hour. \n
