Finance for non-Financial Managers

This two-day programme offers a practical, hands-on approach to analysing and interpreting financial information. Participants will engage with real-world case studies and, where applicable, their own financial accounts. For those who prefer not to share their reports, sample financial documents will be provided for analysis. Each participant will also receive a workbook to document their insights and strategies for applying their newfound knowledge throughout the course.

Managers and Line Managers who wish to improve their confidence in dealing with, and the general understanding of, Business Accounts, Budgetary and Financial Management.

On completion of this two day programme, participants will become familiar with the terminology of finance, will understand how funds flow through a business, how to read and interpret financial reports, how to use basic ratio analysis to track performance and how to cost and price goods and services. Participants will have the opportunity to work on accounts for their business as well as sample accounts which will be provided.

This course can be delivered on-site or through a series of online workshops. We remain flexible to deliver the course to suit your requirements.

The duration of this programme is 2 full days, however, this can also be delivered over a series of shorter workshops.

• Reading and interpreting financial reports – Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Account, Funds Flow Statement.
• Using ratio analysis to assess and track business performance.
• Reading the financial reports for your own business (case study).
• The importance of taking a structured approach to costing and pricing.
• Establishing and monitoring financial Key Performance Indicators.
