CASE STUDY 1

International Development Ireland

As part of a wider programme commissioned across the Middle East region including UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar,  there was a requirement to build the management competencies of its SME sector and the skills of local SME Trainers and Consultants.

 

Through our partners IDI, Optimum Results were commissioned to design and deliver three initial programmes in two locations, Riyadh and Jeddah. These programmes were;

 

(i) a Growth Programme for Small Business Managers.

(ii) A Leadership Programme for established SMEs.

(iii) A programme to build the skills of local trainers.

 

The pilot phase saw 60 Companies and 30 Trainers go through the programme to be followed by 500 in the 2020/ 2023 period.

CASE STUDY 2

Louth, Monaghan and Cavan LEO – SME Retail Programme 2020

Louth, Monaghan and Cavan Local Enterprise Offices secured funding under the Irish Governments Border Region Brexit Stimulus Package to tender for a programme to help retailers improve their business performance and adaptability during the Brexit implementation period.

 

This “SME Retail Programme 2020” was specifically designed to provide a practical management skills development and business improvement programme for SME Retailers under the Irish Government’s “Border Region Brexit Stimulus Package”.

 

The programme was delivered to 70 participant SME companies and included a detailed training programme with eight workshops, three Masterclasses and a number of Guest Speakers. Each Participant also received four mentoring sessions to support the production of a strategic plan.

 

The workshops were delivered online through Zoom using the style of participative workshop webinars. The online classes were extremely engaging.

CASE STUDY 3

Enterprise Ireland/LEO – Professional Business Advisors Programme

This was a 7-day programme delivered over 6 months for Ireland’s LEO Business Advisers. This project was commissioned by Enterprise Ireland and the Local Enterprise Office network. The Professional Business Advisory Programme (PBA) is an “International Best Practice” training programme which will equip your staff with the competencies to bring real added value to your SME clients.

 

The modules delivered in this programme included:

~ Building of SME Management, Strategy, Leadership.

~ Business Performance Assessment

~ Marketing eMarketing, Export Development

~ Financial Analysis, Financial Performance monitoring & management and Financial Planning.

~ People Management & Development (HRD)

~ Operations & Systems (Elements of Lean),

~ Innovation, Creativity and Change.

 

On completion of the training participants will complete a workbook assignment/Client Case Study to the standard required to be awarded the “Advanced Certificate in Client Business Development”.

Ministry of Education and Science Macedonia - High Growth Potential/Hi Tech Small Business Developing Export Business
Skillnet Ireland Tipperary organised the tendering process for the design and delivery of a tailored Supervisor & Line Management Development programme for Pinewood in 2018. Pinewood employs staff from many countries, is owned by an Indian firm (Wockhardt) and exports to the UK continental Europe, the Middle East and west Africa. In this light, we wished to build the leadership and general competencies of our Line / Middle Management but with a very positive emphasis on our internal and external multi-cultural relationships. Optimum Results did an excellent job with unanimously positive feedback from both participants and senior managers.

Following discussions and a Training Needs Analysis (TNA), Optimum Results were requested to design and develop a “Line Management Training Programme” which focused on the development of fundamental management competencies for the participants. This programme ran from October 2018 until March 2019 and was followed by two additional days one-to-one Mentoring and Personality Profiling sessions with each of the participants. Small teams of participants also completed and presented very valuable ‘Work Based Assignments’.
