This highly successful “International Best Practice” training program will run over 5 months and is delivered to small groups by way of onsite skills development workshops and one to-one mentoring/consultancy.

The program is based on the Optimum Results’ Holistic Business Model, showing how SME Managers must think in terms of all aspects of the business if they are to implement an effective Growth & Export Strategy. This framework is used for both Analysis and Planning. 

We provide a pre-training registration process that ensures each participant is fully prepared and aligned with the course objectives. This includes gathering key information, profiling each learner, and offering a targeted self-assessment to help identify current performance and growth potential. The Effective Business Advisor

The Effective Business Advisor (EBA) is a specialist training program designed to build the competencies (knowledge, skills, attitude & behaviour) of the client engaging staff of Business Development Agencies. Equally, it is appropriate for any personnel working in the field of Advising, Facilitating or Mentoring SME Managers to optimise the performance of their businesses.


Following a rigorous peer review in 2015, EBA was classified by the EU’s Training Foundation (ETF) as an “International Best Practice Program”. Delivered by experienced and well qualified trainers in the specialist field of SME Development, EBA has been enjoyed by participants in several Countries.

Usually delivered over 12 – 14 weeks, the programme involves 9 Modules of Training, 3 x full days of classroom and 6 x half-day online interactive workshops.

 

The programme will be delivered using proven methods refined by the team over the past decade, including:

  • Online delivery via Zoom or a similar platform. Optimum Results Ltd has effectively utilised Zoom and Microsoft Teams, leveraging their full functionality to enhance participant experience. Confidentiality is ensured through breakout rooms for private one-to-one discussions with the trainer as needed.

  • On-site delivery at your business premises or an alternative venue if preferred.

This program offers a well-rounded journey into SME management. It begins by exploring key concepts like business performance, leadership, and strategic planning, giving you a solid understanding of the SME owner’s world. You’ll then focus on improving communication, gathering and interpreting information effectively, before diving into marketing, sales strategies, and how to retain customers.

As the program progresses, you will learn the ins and outs of doing business online, including e-commerce and omni-channel sales. Financial topics such as pricing, cash flow, and funding will be covered, helping you make informed financial decisions. You will also develop skills in managing people, enhancing productivity, and driving innovation within your business.

Finally, the course wraps up with a focus on personal development, managing relationships, and reflecting on your overall progress before submitting a work-based assignment. It’s designed to be both practical and insightful, helping you apply what you’ve learned directly to your business.

Line & Middle Managers Leadership

Financial awareness is included too, with modules on managing costs, improving efficiency, and reducing waste through lean principles.

The training finishes by sharpening problem-solving, decision-making, and innovation skills, and focuses on personal development and maintaining a positive attitude in the workplace. Practical assignments and tips for success ensure that participants leave with the tools to thrive in their roles.

This training programme consists of up to 8 online sessions, with mentoring and offline learning included. 

 

The duration can be adapted to suit the clients needs, however we recommend a time-frame of 12 weeks to complete the full course.
